About Me

Nick Lazar – Actor, Filmmaker, Screenwriter

I’m a UK-based actor represented by UK Talent Agents, and a filmmaker with a deep love for stories that live on screen. I work across fiction, micro films and documentaries, and I’m always developing new projects while pursuing acting work. Film is where I feel most at home: both in front of the camera and behind it.

Filmmaking

I earned a Distinction for my Filmmaking MA at the University of Sussex, and since then I’ve been creating my own work to stay sharp creatively. Shorts, micro films, nonlinear media and documentaries. Each project teaches me something new about performance, directing and storytelling. I like to keep the process hands-on and collaborative, whether I’m shaping a character or building a scene from scratch.

Screen Acting & Teaching

I teach screen acting at the Academy of Creative Training, the school where I originally trained. Running classes and workshops keeps me connected to emerging actors and the craft itself. It’s practical, on-camera, real-world training. Exactly the kind I wish I’d had when I was starting out.

Screenwriting

Writing is a major part of my work. I completed a Screenwriting MA at Birkbeck, University of London (also with Distinction), and I’m always developing new scripts, short films, features and anything that sparks an idea worth exploring. For me, writing is where the whole creative engine begins.

Video Production & Web Work

Away from sets and scripts, I run a long-standing video production and web development business I’ve built since 2004. It keeps me flexible, allows me to jump on auditions at short notice, and helps me stay immersed in making things, whether that’s content for clients or films of my own.

What’s Next

I’m continuing to grow as an actor, build new collaborations and push toward my goal of making my first indie feature. Always learning, always creating, always moving forward.
